veggies

All from the garden.  It better hit a hot streak so that everything can finish ripening.  I could see my breath this last week in the morning when I was hanging out the clothes.

                                             berries and eggplant

                                           peppers, cabbage, and broccoli

first ripe tomatoes and my only cantalope

one watermelon and  a handful of beets

I have a question. I was given a Paula Dean magazine and there is a picture of strawberries, blackberries and reaspberries all together. And you have a picture of gorgeous starwberries. Here in my part of Oregon strawberries are long done. I am getting a straggler now and then but they are not pretty..oddly shaped and not very flavorful. Are you in the south and if so do all these berries come on at the same time? Do you get strawberries all summer? I am just curious.

I live up off of Lake Erie. My husband brought home some ever-bearing berries that someone had given him, so this is the first season I have tried them. They are to give fruit all season. I guess it depends on how many plants you have to get a substantial amount to do anything with. I just planted them in June. I didn't bother pinching like a friend who I shared some plants with. She didn't get any,of course. Some of mine are weird, I think it is due to crowding, or lack of sunlight because they multiplied so much and are too thick.
