The price to pay

I had been working hard to clear this area this last spring.   I tried planting daylillies as an outline, pulling weeds with good intention of keeping this area up.  There is an old shallow well there (we keep it covered with an old metal table top for safety reasons right  now).  I would like to build it up even though it is unusable.   It almost never has water in it, and it looked like someone tried filling it in with junk a long time ago.  It is only 4' deep, but it is still neat.

Well, I let it get over grown and decided to clear it out again this past weekend.

This is one area that I planted a snowball bush.  I think it will look nice in the next few years when it sets root.

This became my new best friend.  It is good for poison ivy.   Luckily we have it everywhere here.     Poison ivy usually doesn't bother me that bad, but this time I have it even under my...NOSE!    waaaaaa  Do you know how hard it is not to touch your nose????

I'd like to start doing something over here.

Becky tried really hard to clean it up.  I was hoping after Tom pulled the dead trees out of there and the sun came in,  that the wild ducks would start coming in and cleaning up all the greens.   When we had ducks it was pretty clean but domesticated ducks tend to be dinner for the wild life.

After seeing my breath hanging clothes out the end of last week, this week is starting out hot and humid.

I took a walk out to the road to see if I could find Ahes, our fat, gray, inside kitty that always hung around under the pines.  He never went far.   He has been gone four  days now.  He has never missed dinner.  Ever.   Well, all I saw were the turkeys out milling around.

Cyber school started Monday for Jess.   O.k., call me dumb, but I don't think you are suppose to be on 9 hours!  We were fighting with the program only to find out that they changed it the first day!  What we thought would give us problems wasn't a problem at all, and what was suppose to be easy direction was foul.    It can only get better, right?

I am trying PA cyber school this year. It is all free online schooling through the state. They give you everything, including a laptop and accessories. I told my husband that after 12 years, it was this or public school!
