Everything is just Peachy!

Finally, after getting those peaches last Thursday I finally have started on them!  I started jelly tonight and set the other peaches out on paper for the night.  I will probably make the whole batch jelly and get more for quartering.

What good sleeping weather it will be the next few nights.  Boy, do we need the sleep.  Because of the break and having sunshine we have been putting up hay and will probably continue to do so this week.   Yeah!  I was getting worried that there wasn't going to be enough to go around.

While the weather was good and dry, my dad had brought me out a wonderful gift!  He has built me a cupboard for my kitchen.   It stands up to about my eye hight.  Just the right size.  I put all my good Sunday dishes in it.  That makes it so much easier than trying to climb up to the cupboard above the fridge.  They look better in there too.  I will have to add it to my pictures when I get the cord out for the digital.

I'm still waiting for something to happen out there in the garden.  I saw a zucchini the other day but it looked more like a long green carrot.   I noticed that something was coming in and eating the leaves by snapping them right off.   I hope they leave my cantalope alone.  We have two that are very small, but growing.   Boy, next year I am going to come back with a vengence and have such a garden that I won't have room for all the produce. Especially corn.  $3.00 a dozen here!  Guess we won't be putting it in the freezer this year.

Last week while checking for eggs in our old chicken coop (we all know that chickens don't like to lay in their coop where they are suppose to be)  she was thrilled to find a momma kitty that had three newborns with her.  Of course they were named on the spot.   She came running in all excited tonight because their little eyes are finally opening up!

Well, since the peaches are done for the night and I have now bagged up the four loaves of bread I made tonight I think I will have my hot cup of tea before putting up my feet for the night.  Tomarrow is practically here.

Sounds like you are getting a lot done Heather. What will ya'll do with the kittens? I am glad you got some hay put up. We got tons of first cutting (enough we can sell some), but it is time for 2nd cutting and the man who does it for us is going through chemo, so I am not sure if we will even get a second cutting. I sure don't want to pressure him, he has enough going on.
