Thursday I did a lot of apples. I had picked about 2 1/2 bushel from out tree out front. I never used the apples before, but out of desperation of trying to find inexpensive apples, I decided to try to do these. The skins didn't look very good, but after researching, found that it wasn't a big deal and peeling them was all they needed. I made quite a few quarts of applesauce, and a few of ready-made apple pie filling.
Friday the girls and I went dress shopping. Jessalyn wanted to find a new dress for homecoming. Becky had to work so we didn't get to go into Big Town until late afternoon. I wasn't looking forward to that, but luckily Jess found two dresses at the first store we stopped at. Buy one get one 1/2 off to boot! Becky treated herself to a few new things and found a swing dress that she bought me, thinking I needed a treat.
We decide to go to the Salvation Army just because we were in town. Found a great pair of muckers that a country person should never pass by, and the girls talked me into buying a dress they liked, although I don't know where I will ever wear it. A bit to dressy for church.
Afterwards, we headed off the crazy street and headed back towards home. We stopped and had a bite to eat first. I hope the girls enjoyed themselves as much as I did.
