One of the last nice days of summer today.  Fortunately, Tom could take  the van to work so that freed me up to get a few things done at home early.  Then while Jess was busy with school all day I went to Mom and Dad's to do some yard work.  Trying to do Park 'n' Shop*  agenda, I stopped by the stores to pick up a few things such as the 50# of potatoes to can.  By  the time I did get out to the parents, Mom was already busy in the front flower garden.  I finished helping her pull out all the ivy and trimming up before hauling it all out back to dump.  Then while she worked a little in a back area, I mowed their back yard.  We also surveyed the upstairs of their storage barn.
Dad had lunch ready when we took a short break  before heading out to the back wall to pull ivy.  It had taken over an entire section of the wall covering the window too.   All done!
Now, to get those apples picked from the tree out front before the rain.
*Park  'n' Shop was a game from the u '50's where you had a handful of cards and you had to "park and shop" for each item before heading home to win the game.  You had to use strategic thinking and grouping to get done as fast as possible.
