Cyril J. "Cy" Lecker Cyril "Cy" J. Lecker, age 90, of Harborcreek, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Erie on March 22, 1921, son of the late John and Regina Becker Lecker. He was a lifelong Erie resident. Cy was a member of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church. He was employed with General Electric Co. for 36 years until his retirement in 1983.
Cy was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was formerly a volunteer at the Ellen Cochran Food Pantry. Cy enjoyed eating out, watching the birds and Christmas movies.
Preceded in death by his wife Alice Bailey Lecker who died January 1, 1987, he is survived by two daughters, Nancy Lecker of Harborcreek, with whom he resided, and Phyllis Miller (Kenneth) of Erie; one son, James Lecker of Erie; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Lecker, Tom & Dan McFarland, Regina Renner, Terry McFarland, Christopher Colvin, Bonnie Nye, Paula Colvin, Kim McNaughton, Mark Colvin, Michael and Jason Lecker; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Brayden McNaughton; several nieces and nephews; and his grand-dog, Chelsea.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret McFarland; a son-in-law, Tom McFarland; and three brothers, Francis, Oscar and Norman Lecker.
Interment, St. Gregory Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Erie Crawford County Veterans Burial Detail.
