HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!

Jessalyn made his favorite French Vanilla cake with butter cream frosting to celebrate yesterday. I picked up some butter pecan ice cream when Tommy and I were out earlier in the day. That French vanilla is wonderful! I had to go to sign class at church about 6:00, I wanted to make something easy to cook and clean up. I cooked up some of the venison in my cast iron skillet for dinner. I had some Asian sesame dressing that I slow cooked it in. The really liked it, saying it was tender. It was some of the pieces that came out of the bag I plan on canning today.

The rain has not subsided to much, but the temperatures are remaining steady. Ken went out and saw nothing, but got thoroughly soaked. The cats want to go out to play, but the rain is relentless. Loopy found refuge under the plastic that is covering our wood.

The Tom's had brought home the Christmas tree in the back of the truck when we did the deer the other day, and it was sitting in the corner of the living room taking up space so I decided to put it up yesterday morning. It has only the lights on it and I really like it that way, but the kids are hounding me to get out the decorations. They hold memories, and lots of them!

I have the bread rising already this morning and plan on doing some straightening up and sorting of clothes to see if I want to haul them to the laundry mat today. If I can wait another day or two, I think I can hang them out.
