Some place nice to get stuck in....

"Wonderful Grace of Jesus..." starting my morning off. I know it is now 7:00 a.m. when I hear this on the radio.

The sky glows a red, shimmering frost on the ground. The first frost in quite a few days. The show of a changing day.

Tom is home from hunting, or food and fellowship I should say. They didn't see anything, but stopped at the weigh station before leaving. Tom said there were mostly little bear, ones that he told the guys he wouldn't even consider shooting. He was saddened to hear that one was shot as small as 35 pounds. To me, that isn't hunting. That is target happy. It is to sad. There isn't any benefit to meat there, just shooting.

Anyway, after doing routine things before breakfast like taking care of the cats, loading laundry, sweeping the living room, I am now cooking my breakfast. It is my usual egg sandwich with a cup of hot tea while I read this mornings devotional.

It is already time to start advent readings too.

While Tom was away, the usual was done around here. I didn't even attempt to try doing something big like I use to do. He had bought us bacon that I cooked up on Saturday, but no one was really interested. Becky worked a 12, Tommy doesn't have breakfast, and Jess nibbled on it.

We did take a trip to the library where Jess picked up a few books for the weekend. We were a little early, so Jess waited patiently for them to open while enjoying the sunshine outside the car. Sunday we went to church with Tommy attending Sunday School. They are starting a new young persons study in the parsonage. He doesn't attend church, but is interested in the study they are doing. It begins at Genesis and works it's way through the Bible. I don't care for the authors, but hoping just opening the Bible will help answer some questions.

I went to my second class that the preacher's wife is having on learning sign language. She is starting from the very beginning, but it is interesting because she is showing me signs that are different from what I have learned. The woman in our church learned exact signing, whereas I learned ASL which changes the sentences around. It is good practice, and I hope to improve the speed and accuracy of translation and interpretation.

I will be checking the grocery and getting the food ready to take to Gina's this week. I think I will have Jessalyn make the apple pie. She makes good apple pie. Tom requested pumpkin with a crust compared to the recipe I use for a no crust pumpkin pie, more of a custard pie. I like those because they aren't as heavy, but some people love the crust! My other sister-in-law Terry likes the carrot souffle that I make, and I would like to try sweet potato biscuits.
