a week-end has passed

Ken had a long week of new work. He was working down off the Ohio River. The first day they ask him if he could drive stick, and had him driving the dump truck. One day he was using a special saw cutting out the squares of pavement. Tom managed to send him a few bucks so he could drive home Saturday night. He had dinner with us, took Miley home for the night, and returned the next day. Before leaving, he managed to sell his truck back to the original owner for a song. He needed the cash to jump start down there until the finances get situated. Before you knew it, it was time to go back down. He is taking the van until he picks up a vehicle that is good on gas and more reliable. He says it will probably be two weeks before he is back again.

Coming home.... and leaving again!

While visiting my parents, they shared this photo they found of my Great Grandma (front, white dress), and my Great, Great-Grandma (right, black dress with hands clasp), and Great, Great Grandfather (front). These were my Grandmother's aunts and uncles. They were of German heritage, but lived in the states. One of the boys traveled on the Titanic, but didn't parish. I don't know which one. None of the siblings had children except my Great Grandma. She had three daughters. So neat! They figured the era is pre-civil war to mid civil war time.

They also had this game, but don't know how to play. It is some kind of card game by Milton Bradley. I've tried finding the instructions but without luck. Wish someone knew!
