Finally is was dry enough to mow. We had many small mounds of grass, so I raked it and Tom took it over to the horses. They loved it! Like our big time machinery to move the grass?
While he was moving the grass, I caught a glimpse of a couple of deer over by the freshly cut grass at the pond. I almost waited to long. There were two little deer, one scampered away just before I clicked this picture.
The girls had a wedding to go to last Friday night. A young man that is a youth leader was married in a small ceremony and some of the kids from youth group were invited. The girls had gone out shopping together for dresses.
Last Saturday was Grandma Clouser's memorial at her church in the city. It is a beautiful, old church with lots of woodwork. The sprays were pinks and whites, with two shades of pink carnations laid on the alter to represent the four grandchildren and the eight great-grandchildren. Her neighbors, who were very close friends for decades left three roses too. It was a nice memorial with scripture she had picked out, a rememberance by her long-time pastor, and mom singing Amazing Grace. Tom set up the camcord so there will be at least one copy of the service kept. Afterwards, we took the items on the alter upstairs and put them downstairs where everyone could enjoy them. Mom and Dad also added other family memories too. Dad figured about sixty people came and stayed.
While wer were there, Tom snapped a picture of Deb, Bill, and I.
Later that weekend, Tom was tired of looking at all the stumps and thought he would give it a shot pulling them out with his tractor. He pulled almost a dozen, dragged them from the hole, and there they sit. I hope they are gone in the next week or so.
Today I am doing finishing things for Becky's graduation party. It is really hard when you don't know how many will come. She met with Pastor this morning about her Baptism tomorrow, then she came home and set up things for work, and left with her Beau. Jessalyn was up very early this morning getting ready for her trail ride. The breeze is blowing and it should be really nice where she is going. I am waiting for Tom to come home with the watermellon, poster board for everyone to sign tomorrow, and all those buns!!
