hoopla and holidays

We lost our power and land line this last week when a big storm came through~again! It is nothing like the storms they are having in Missouri, but it did enough damage in it's path that it took the Amish barn and put the whole roof in the middle of the road. One person completely lost their home, and there are huge, old trees down. It came just south of us about a mile to 3 miles down the road. I heard the call go out for a tornado 20 miles south of us, and then it came right up and just east of our place. Took the roof up a little from the gentleman we get our hay from. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

We didn't do to much for the holiday. Tom worked a little, then he wanted to go hit a local towns annual sales in the afternoon. We don't need anything, but it is fun to look. I also had Jessalyn print out Becky's invitations for her graduation party. I mailed them out and made up some to put in the mailboxes at church. Her senior picture turned out beautiful (not bias at all).

I took some steaks out to thaw and cooked up some chicken breast ahead of time to put on the grill. Then Monday I drove in and picked up Tommy, Ken came a little later, and then Becky finally came home from work about 4:30. Tommy worked on fixing a new ride for himself while he was here.

Tom worked diligently at getting the good eats out.

It was terribly hot. I really miss the pool! At least Ken is cool. He shaved his head again!

Ken came just in time for dinner, and visited with his cat that lives here.
