middle of April

almost, anyway.   I have a fire going because it is to damp in the house for the clothes to dry.  You can't feel it, but you know because of the clothes.  It was too windy yesterday to hang them out and I thought they might blow off the line into the mud.

The threat of rain remains on and off, with temperatures teasing us.  It was really warm over the weekend, with it 74 at 5:00 a.m. With chill in the morning, I work inside so I can play outside in the afternoon.  Yesterday, I made two loaves a bread, got a load of laundry done, make pumpkin snack bread, peanut butter cookies, and chocolate/caramel chip cookies.  That sh0uld make everyone happy...

I got to go outside and finish clearing under the pines.   The winter storms had left it quite a mess under there.  I took the big black sled and did half one day and the other half yesterday. I only went 3/4 way back because of a fallen pine.  Today if the rain lets up I will go back and start on the back half.  The pines are dead past there and Tom wants to cut them down.  So if I start cleaning up it won't be double the hassle later.

Over the weekend we cleaned up the back part of the house too.  Removing old rotten wood borders, fixing the porch where the ice came off the roof and broke the boards,  raking bark from the burning wood.  You really have to graph off the property and work one section at a time or you can get very discouraged with little bits half done here and there.  It was nice enough that Jess took Art out to lunge and ride.   He really needs to be out, he is forgetting what he has learned.

Ken visited with Miley.  He took her out back in the woods for a while, then he was off to a friends house for the day.

You can see how far out I moved the garden from the house.  I need to pull out the wild roses.  I don't know if I will move them up or not.   This has sat for a week now.  I'm not sure what I want to put in it.

Last night when I was bringing Becky home from dance you could see across the sky where the rain was falling and where the sun was shining.  The sunset falling on the tree tops were a beautiful pink.   While I was taking this picture, Becky also spotted a partial rainbow.

Beautiful pictures. I know what you mean about the weather. We had a few nice days and now we are back in cold weather. I am trying to dry clothes outside today. We do have a fire going this morning.

Have a great day.
