When the weather isn't good for outside, I've been working inside on one of the extra bedrooms. Took me a whole morning to go through "stuff". So much craft stuff! A lot of yarn. At night I have been plugging along making a sweater from some of the yarn I have accumulated.
and a ton of pictures! Remember those? The ones that you use to print out? I have albums upon albums of them! Giant three ring binders! I waded through storage stuff, cleaned off shelves, painted the floor. I'd like to get to the point of doing the walls after Tom gets a chance to fix the ceiling. It has been a constant headache with a persistent leak. No matter how much he patches outside, we seem to get a leak every spring.
We are getting together with friends and ordering our meat chickens this week. Freedom Rangers are what they are called. They grow 12 weeks as opposed to the 8. They have had them before and said they are a very meaty bird. I think we are going to start with 25 and see how that goes.
A big waste of poultry a few weeks back in the back of the pasture. I went to let the horses out one nice morning and noticed that one of the yellow insulators was laying inside the pasture. That means the wire was down. So I walked back there to fix it thinking it was deer passing through, and here I found this big Tom that had gotten tangled in the wire. I wish I was a good judge of time, it seems like such a waste of meat . I didn't want to take chances and had Tom take it back in the woods after he came home and got a look at it .
Ken met us at my parents house last weekend. Tom wanted to pick up the go-cart and and ladder that my dad wanted to sell. Guess Ken is a little to big to enjoy toolin' around in it now.
Becky went in and test drove a car the other day. A man at work was selling his 1999 Chevy, just like this one. Tom had bought his last Chevy off him a few years ago and Tom told him when he was ready to sell this one to let him know. Well, he is ready. Becky really liked it, but is about a month short on funds. She is going to try and put more hours in at the home over the next few weeks and hope the man will hang on to it for her.
