W ith it not raining yesterday morning, I pulled up some daffodils that were under the front window and transplanted them into the side of the driveway where the day lillies are. Even if they don't bloom this year, the bulbs are there for next year. I hope it works out where they bloom and as they are getting done, the orange day lillies will start to bloom. I am going to run some fishing line along the bed to try and keep the deer from eating the starters. I read that they can't see the line and it scares them and will keep them away. It will only have to be no more than a foot above the plants.
After I got done I walked out to the strawberry patch with high hopes. Well, at least I saw three groups of leaves. We will still have to replant.
I noticed that the wild blueberries are coming out too. I will have to figure out how to keep the birds away this year.
I peeked around the bushes to find these geese in our pasture honking away. I noticed they were calling to two more that were way back down the other end of the pasture. I think they were gathering together to go up to the pond up the way.
When Becky got home from work last night, we had to get a picture for the dance book. It is due today, so we had to get one for Tom to take on the flash to print out and send in today or she wouldn't have a picture. We kept waiting for costumes like every year, and this year one came in. A basketball costume! They are going to tap as basketball players. She isn't to thrilled about the costume or the dance and would have rather had her jazz costume come in for pictures.

Very lovely homestead, and loving the seedlings! My seedlings came up, but I could not successfully transfer them to the garden. You've inspired me. Going to start them again and possibly try to seed some of the more "touchy" ones directly into the garden (or soil is terrific...who knows?).
