The Saturday storms brought very high winds, they say up to 60 miles an hour. It was a constant hum through the house. It wasn't really that cold though. You can see that because of the wet ground along with the high winds, we have lost yet more pines. We counted 12 that were uprooted this time. Of course, they were the live ones. Right on the edge of the group of trees that were dead and waiting to be cut down. I guess the good thing about it is that they were uprooted, not snapped, so at least Tom can clear them out completely.
Over the weekend, we went to the new second hand store near us. We found a traverse rod for 2.50 that Tom bought for me and put it up across our entry door. That may sound funny, but it looks just like it is framing a big window. I like it there because in the winter we draw it closed to cut the draft, and in the summer, can open the door but draw it closed to keep out the heat but still let in the breeze. We don't use it much anyway, only for company. We generally just go in and out the mudroom door.
After hurrying to paint for the new chicks, I found out that we aren't getting them until next month! Well, at least the old ladies will get a chance to go in and out the back door of the coup before they get here.
I will be missing the ladies Bible study today. Tom took the van, Becky the car, and I was left the truck. It uses to much gas for just in and out, and I think it needs jumped to turn over anyway. The lifestyles are changing here with the price of gas at now 3.85 a gallon. Funny, looking back in a few years we will probably scoff at such a price. Like it is nothing. But right now we are taking a breath and tightening up our belt. I sometimes send Tom off with a list of groceries or misc. items to pick up after work. He has to go to town everyday and I can't justify using five dollars in gas to go shopping. Becky goes by a store on her way to work too, so I can always slip her some money to pick up one or two things if we run out.
She is to be making arrangements for getting her car soon. I feel for her because she will be the only one paying for gas to get her back and forth from work. She is putting in a lot of hours n0w hoping to pay insurance in full so that will be less weight on her shoulders for a year.
On with the day, Jessalyn has to come on to do school.
AND WHAT'S WITH THESE GOOGLE ADS AFTER ALL MY POSTS? How do I get rid of the google ads? Sorry people!

We haven't had wind that uproots our trees, but we have had strong winds. So glad that they didn't fall on buildings, etc.
I hope that your daughter can come up with the payment for the insurance. I know that we are looking at $800 for a year for our daughter (she will need to come up with that and gas) for school next year.
Have a great day.
