O.k. getting caught up now with blogging after a nasty virus. Both with the computer and my laziness virus. I missed blogging, but Jess' schoolwork takes up a lot of time and if I don't get on in the early morning, I am done for the day.I'm grabbing my coffee and so....
Because of Presidents Day holiday this week, we don't have Release time today. I'd like to go to the .25 store to give away more and more, but it is only 12 degrees outside right now, and I'd like to stay where the fire is. It looks like I might be the one up early today and doing chores anyway. Tom was up late and not feeling up to par. He thinks he is getting a chest cold. Rebekah worked very late last night so render her useless until mid day. If Jess doesn't hear the buckets getting filled, she will be in bed for a while.
I had hoped to get up and get Sister from Dr. D up the way. She said she should be good to go. Now, if I can just get Belle dried off I can take her up there. I am getting a quart a day and hate to do it. It is just enough for Tom's fudgcicles, yogurt, and cottage cheese. If I want babies before the cold comes in the fall, I will have to bite the bullet and just do it.
The thaw of snow and ice was brief. We woke to many more inches of snow again. I tried running the snow blower just so we can get out. It is running so badly it took me 2 1/2 hours, plus shoveling paths and tight areas. Tight muscles instead today. Hauling out the water buckets will be like hair of the dog medicine. I have to get some plans made up to make a good bucket hauler for myself. The girls are getting busy and it will all be left to me soon. I don't mind, but I will make sure it is as grief-free as possible.
Ah, they just said about 81" of snow this year. I hope that is enough for the well!
Tom took me out Saturday and he bought me a new washing machine. What ever happened to simple wash, rinse, spin? This is one of the simplest models they had, and it still has lights and whistles! It will take some getting use to for sure. No soaking, if it sits more than 10 it's "safety" feature makes it drain. The lid locks so you never know what is going on. I will tell you that I am happy to say that I think Ican retire my fuzz buster for a while. This new machine turns out clothes without soap residue and pillage. YES!
Ken and his friend Thomas came out Sunday afternoon and he brought his new .22. Tom went out to join them and they shot off a few rounds. An afternoon of guy time.
So this is my early morning post. Now I am on to breakfast, devotions, and chores.
