Well, today is my Airman son's birthday. He is over yet another hill by turning 22 today. I am sad because this is the first birthday he is not here. Although he is still stateside, it is still to far to be for me today.
I sent him lots of things in the mail this past week, including his gift. I know he will like the Jim Henson book I sent him.
He celebrated by getting himself this great "Birthday food! Chocolate cream pie with soft sandy graham cracker crust and two snickers ice cream bars!" Ah, military food!

Happy Birthday to both of your boys - I mean young men. Seems like only yesterday we were at a Halloween party at the circle b and the boys were so little. Times a flying.
HANG IN THERE MOMMY! YOUR AIRMAN WILL BE HOME SOON ENOUGH ON LEAVE AGAIN. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT THE YEARS OF SERVICE WILL FLY BY AND HE WILL BE HOME FOR GOOD. BELIEVE ME (GRANDMA) THE YEARS WILL PASS JUST AS FAST AS HIS CHILDHOOD YEARS AND OTHERS WILL TAKE THEIR PLACE. YOU GOT LOTS OF BIRTHDAYS TO SPEND IN YEARS TO COME WITH YOUR BOYS, JUST HANG ON FOR THE RIDE THROUGH LIFE!!!!!! HE LOOKS THE SAME IN THIS PICTURE AS HE DID YEARS AGO ONLY TALLER.
