in the midst if this winter blast has been a blessing for all who do chores. The horses have been in there for a week or so, we moved the boys in after Tom put a small housing box in there for them to suggle up in, and the now the rabbit has moved in temporarily because of the low wind chills! Because of the time, money, and temps, He finished the southern lean-to section to just get those animals out of the drafty old barn and the muck. They haven't been back over to the old barn since, even though we had hay out there just in case they became unsure of their new home. Here you see Methias standing gaurd on the East side of the lean-to part of the barn.
Here is Rosie. The Horses actually take up only 20' of the barn. The back 20' is fenced off for the goats. Come summer, this end wil be closed up and the lean-to will be divided into four 10 x 10 stalls that the horses will enter from the south side (or main part of the barn off to Methias' left). As it is, they have more room now than they had over at the other shelter!
So with the cold, Becky had found an ice strip that had frozen over back to the chickens. She got out her broom and her skates and back and forth she went!
