Always something!

I have been busy finishing the ceiling in the back hallway. I had used mud on it to finish it quickly a FEW YEARS back. I did a whack up job of finishing it finally. Of course, it doesn’t match with whatever I did then, but at this point, I don’t care. It doesn’t stand out anymore. And I also took some mud and threw it up in that hole in the ceiling where the ugliest wagon wheel light hung when we first moved in. We took it down and left the hole for all these years. It had dry wall stuck up in there, but it looked bad. Better now with some mud in it.

Took the time to stain that wood Tom put around the new door and the entryway to the kitchen. Just a more finished look.

What an escapade last night. Busy night. It was a night that the girls were going two different directions. Jess had AWANA, Becky had dance. Getting the hussle to leave. I thought that while I was finishing up putting dinner out, I would fill the washer. Well, my washer has been long gone for over a year. By that, I mean really kaput! It shakes and quivers so bad that it finally shook the back panel off where the knobs are. The cable for the dial is what holds it on. Anyway, It was leaking water as it filled so I have been using a cold water hose to fill manually. This in turn means I have to be there to shut it off when it fills. Do you know how long it takes to fill a big load? I usually have the dial on because even though it won’t fill on it’s own, it hums and I hear the agitator kick in when the level is reached. It didn’t work that way last night. Again. So silently, the overflow of water crept over the drum and all over the floor. Again! Water everywhere and I couldn’t get my Hoover set up fast enough to get the water before it disappeared into the walls. Waaaa!

I’m surprised that the thing doesn’t shake and shimmy all the way through the rotten, wet floor!

On a much better outlook, the horses have been spending time in the new barn. They really like it because they don’t even go back to the old one to eat the hay we put in there. We move the wethers there too off and on for the day so they have a chance at dryness. They like to go back to there smaller house for the night probably because their bodies can radiate heat better. Tom is talking of making a smaller box inside the stall for them to huddle in. The ceiling itself is just much to high to keep their body warmth at night.
