Short sleeves one day, three inches of snow the next. My poor flowers! I did have my son go out and cut some of the daffodils that were out front before they were frozen. The bright yellow helps a little to keep the sunshine in the house amidst the disappointment of the return of snow outside.
To keep warm inside today I plan to start cooking the ham in the roaster. It is a huge ham and I plan on it taking all day into the evening. It needs to cook long and slow as to get that ham gravy smell stirring in the air!
I was disappointed in myself yesterday for not planning better. I wanted to attend Maundy Thursday service at our church, but after just getting in from chores there just wasn't enough time planned in to get there in time. I didn't factor in those snow covered roads. Today will be planned better and will make it to Good Friday services.
What is the reason for having a celebration if you don't prepare? These days before Sunday are all part of the special event. I feel like I have missed out by not going Thursday. I once had a woman remark to me, "If church is open, how could you not go?" It is a missed opportunity to rejoice and give praise with others.
