Two weeks already!

I can't believe that it has taken me this long to blog!   But then again time flies when we get older.

The snow has come and gone since those wonderful, previous pictures I had posted.   In fact, it was howling and blowing quite a bit!  I am so glad that we stacked that wood near the house.

We have been blessed this hunting season with our share of venison.   Hubby brought in another doe and it looks like it will make some great Sunday dinners.

With the snow coming down,  I thought it would be a good time to make those cookies that I had put in the freezer.  This is the first time I had frozen any dough and I am happy to report that they all came out great!  Quite a long list made Saturday morning.  I started about 6:30 and finished cleaning up about 1:00.  Just in time to clean and freeze that doe.

The list includes:

Sugar cookies, gingerbread men and trees,  wedding cakes, eggnog logs, mocha bites, and cream cheese stars.

I have the dough for the buckeyes (a.k.a. chocolate covered peanut butter balls), and have to make the chocolate no bakes and date cookies yet.  They go as fast as I make them, so I have to wait until the last minute.

I have been asked about recipes, so I will try and get them out and post them in a folder under my files later.  I warn you, I don't cook like Betty Crocker.  She ruined it for many when she introduced measuring amounts.  I tend to make in a "looks about right"  kind of way.   Measuring takes out all of the surprise in the end result!!!

Keeping in mind, this is the second Sunday in Advent.  What a wonderful candle to light today.  Love!

30But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."

 Luke 1:30-33

What a great gift of love God has given to us!
