Fall!

This was our beaufiful yellow maple a few days ago. When the sun hits it, it just radiates color.  The deer love to come up and graze under it.   So do the turkeys!

Thank goodness we did have a few days like this because we had the chance to put up a few more loads of hay.  The wind blew over the fields enough to get three more loads.  They were very heavy, though. I tried to get the horses out in the yard to graze on grass, but they kept wanting more and broke out, so back to the pasture they go.  They have called for rain every day but we have lucked out to see some sun and wind to dry some ground.  The snow has missed us going southward and up the lake about 90 miles.  I am thankful that we are not covered that quickly.

We have the colder temps though and I broke down the other day and had my son bring in a small load of wood to start up the stove.  Oh, how nice it was!

I also made up some pumpkin muffins with orange glaze for my oldest daughter to take with her when she goes with her friend and her parents to a Penn State game this weekend.  I sent them all with her, so I guess I better make up some more for us!

I just found your blog and I just love the name! The picture you posted of the maple tree was beautiful. At the moment we are about to leave Spring behind and head on into our Summer (really hot & humid)...Pumpkin muffins sounds so nice. Have a great day
