Yes, we are Muddy Boot

What a rollercoaster ride the last few days have been!   Rain, sun, cool, heat.  The animals are suppose to be able to handle changes, but I think that they are even confused.  Because of the rain and then humidity the goatie pens are more like a swine's heaven    I think that  later today we will be giving them a new run from off their house .  I was looking at the hooves and they really need to dry out.

Also needed to dry out are the horse's hooves.  We have decided to go ahead and pull the last two shoes that one of the horses have on and just leave them trimmed for the rest of the summer.  They have kept up with out dirt road this year but in that have also had to many large rocks to enjoy road rides, and the mud just sucks the shoes right off the soft, wet feet.   Luckily, they don't have fungus.

For the hooves:   Biotin.   We have been giving them  some in their feed for over a week now and hope that will help in healing the  cracking hooves.

Suprisingly, the garden is not washed out.   Corn is coming up, but I have yet to see silk.  The squash plants are loving it!

Yesterday while the sun was shining I made a few signs for the yard.  Our  address sign was showing too much age, and then I also have  a new one at the top of the driveway  that reads,  "No Solicitin' just a Visitin"" .

Ah,  I feel a breeze.  Time to sit back and enjoy lunch and soime sunshine!

We are trying to dry out as well. Our farm was not properly graded for any of the buildings. We constantly fight water and muck.

I love your title "Muddy Boot"!

Reminds me of a campground we used to go to when my children were small - it was called "Dusty Springs" and they just loved to stomp around the camp site - and stir up all the dust clouds. Oh, but what fun we had!!
