Raising them isn't easy, that is for sure. I would have never thought of doing or saying things that you hear youth do now. Yes, they say that with every gereration, but as you look at history, one generation out does the following. You can only hope that you bring them up where you can be proud and you pray that you haven't messed things up in the mean time. How can you be sure that you have chosen the correct path? The direction that you want them to follow? I guess it is just staying consistant. Hoping that you can correct your own mistakes before they are visible. Praying for forgiveness and guidance. A very, dear childhood friend had a father with a chanllenging daughter and would give parents this advice,
"Teach them all you can while you can, then sit back and hold your breath. They will do what they will do and you can't change that."
I guess that is just the growing process for each of us. We just need to be reminded that our "parent" is always trying to teach us and waiting for us to come to him in time of need. Pray to Him always.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8
Jesus promises insight and direction through the Holy Spirit that lives in us. As it directs our hearts, we will want the things that will help us spiritually. Through faith in Him we can see these things accomplished.
