Independence Day is also Memorial Day for me

Happy Fourth of July everyone!

We started off the day in the farm way, wading through mud and dodging rain drops.   After morning chores we decided to head off to visit family.  The rain tapered off and the sun came out off and on.  Cars filled a lot of yards,  grills going and you could see yard games being played. We didn't picnic today, but after visiting came home to do evening milking and chores then after dinner enjoyed a movie in front of  the fans.

Even with the daily routine being done just like any other day,  I still remember it is Indepencence Day.   The birthday of the American freedoms.   Just think of all the freedoms we have aquired since those begining years.   Some good, some, well...I guess there are some that are debateable. Some think that this is such a great thing that some of our country's leaders want others  to have their freedoms  too whether they want it or not!!

So today while we know that July 4 is to celebrate our independence,  I am also taking time to remember our freedoms, and those that are following the orders of our nation's leaders.  Those men and women  that  may not be having  the freedom in a hostile, foreign country  to celebrate and picinic with family members today.  Honoring the 4th, but remembering those abroad today.
