Sunday morning nursery and then the first class of Sunday school that we will be teaching. I think it went well despite not getting to do all that was planned. They have us picking back up on Josiah, the eight year old king, so there is a lot of fun ideas there. They all listened to what we had to say and eager to do the activities.
It's that time of the year again! Tom was off to the mountains for the night. Jess wanted Collin to go so they left after breakfast. Tom left after church for the night.Still hot!
Tom came back Monday afternoon. I was smart enough to get up early and start cooking. I knew burgs and dogs were over the top with Tom coming home from camp. I decided to pull out the last of the wings. Baked over two dozen for two hours then made ranch, butter garlic, and bbq for he grill. Both married couples came. We ate and visited. No shooting this time! To hot! Jake did bring his new bow and practiced a bit while Becky and Tommy tried frisbee. We did take a short walk over to the gamelands to see the beaver dam(age). I wonder how many beaver it took to turn a five foot span to something this size? Look how far down they took the dirt to build up the banks. I bet this is at least 300' across.
As we approached, grouse took off from the swamp. It was funny because I was sure I heard Jake make a small squeal with excitement!
Jess and Collin came late after everyone else left. As they unpacked the food I started in on the kitchen. Two hours later I was just about done. You feel like sleeping but the fans just aren't working hard enough.
