Some place nice to get stuck in....

A Sunday morning that we are not headed out to church.  The snow is blowing and we are getting a slow start.   Taking our time and getting the chores done.  They are trying something different today at church.  It is the week in between the holidays, so they are not having an actual service.  They decided to have a pancake breakfast/fellowship time.  Sounds nice, but we had our own here.   Coming in later in the morning, Tom broke out the new slicer and made up a pound of our own bacon.  Jess cut up the cinnamon toast, and I made the eggs.
I wonder if Becky and Jake are enjoying the breakfast we sent home with them when they visited last night?  Tom had cut up a pound for them to take home to savor.
Mom and Dad finally got their Christmas gift in the mail just before New Years. They skyped  us so we could watch them open their gift.   Now they can show pictures all the time.
Now with the new year coming, it was time to start making goodies to snack on.  I made up pepperoni balls, donut holes, and  sauerkraut balls.  I dropped some off to the neighbors and then when we went to grab a few bags of coal for the week I had Tom stop at Becky's to give her some.  She had ask if I would make some for her to take to a party she was going to.   I also gave her the apple cozies that I had started before Christmas.  I made them up on a whim, not really as a gift.

This year we have had quite an account of events that were both good and bad.  Some indifferent.  Just when you think things were on track, up pops a curve.   Announcements of engagements and weddings, accomplishments surfacing from our labors of life.

So here we find ourselves at the end of 2013.
