Some place nice to get stuck in....

Cold at night, warmer in the day.   Time to get down to business and do some work around here.
Had my breakfast and made my list.
I decided to get the freezer defrosted in the mudroom.  I am sure Tom would be thrilled to know I used a meat mallet to get it off.  Better than a butter knife!  Out the door the frost went.   It was cold enough to keep it like snow for a few hours!  Now I can see just what we have and what we need to eat up.   It is only half full, so I am reaching the point of turning it off.   I think we might be able to downsize soon!

I pulled out the crock and made one of Jessalyn's favorites, rigatoni.  It cooked all day so I didn't have to!
Swept out the car and stacked some wood.  Cleaned out the kitchen cupboards and took inventory of things I need over the next few weeks.

Making my cookie list,  I decided it was time to render some lard for baking.  I found a large bag in the freezer so I broke some off and did that too.
Yesterday, no one was home so I could get going on outside things.  I started by doing the barn chores, running the dogs, and cleaning the mudroom.  Ken stopped over and took a walk in the woods. Warming up took me outside to hang the Christmas lights and gather the trash for Tom to take in.
I went to the local consignment store and dropped off a few things that I hope will give me a few dollars the beginning of next month.  If anything it cleared out some of the stuff here.
Made sure Tom was packed and ready to go after work.  He and a group of men from the church are going bear hunting for a few days.
Today Jess and I are going into Big Town and do some more shopping.  Then home again she has her forensics book to finish before tonight.  While she is doing that I may cut up some more wood and stack it if I can get the chainsaw running.
