Some place nice to get stuck in....

We have babies! It had to be the coldest night of the week. I wondered what I would find when I went out in the morning even though Sister didn't show signs of impending labor. There they were, mostly cleaned up and in the house. I guess because it was so cold that Sister stayed in her little house (which is in the stall of the barn anyway) so the babies were born in there. That would sure be warm enough. I took an old stretched out pair of Ken's long johns and cut the legs off. I slipped them over the kids with the cuff around the neck. I put a slit in the cuff for easement, and cut holes for the legs. It was a perfect fit!

The one goat is a little larger and heavier, but the white one is tiny. I was worried about her especially after what we went through with her mother, but she seems to be doing o.k. Both know how to nurse and it seems Sister is full enough.

Now it is warming up a little, the wind is still blowing quite well but at least it isn't in the 20's for a while. It will give them both a chance to grow and put some weight on.

Check out Harriet sitting on top of one of the cut pines out front!

Love the sleeve idea. I used to hit the thrift stores and get sweatshirts in all sizes from baby to adult. I usually had one that would fit whoever needed one. :)
