A little cool start to the morning.

Ken fixed the side door step that cracked from rot and weight. Today with it being cool I started a small fire for the morning, then turned the oven on and made orange pumpkin bars.

I also pulled out the venison leg that was in the fridge defrosting and cut it in half and put it in the crock-pot with diced potatoes. I pour some ginger ale over it for stewing in. It is an experiment to use flat soda up. I have to premeditate the dinners now because we no longer have a microwave. Ken and I were using it the other day and I noticed a funny smell. Then POOF! It gave a zzzzzzz sound and everything went out. I had Tom bring home the one stored at work that we traded in for this new one. Even though it was stored in a box, it was way to nasty to use again. So Ken took and got rid of it and we are without. I’m in no hurry as I would like to save pennies for a micro/convection oven.
Last night when I was coming home from dropping Jessalyn off at AWANA I saw this stream of light coming down from inside a gathering of clouds. Always leaves me in awe wondering about that stream of light. I tried not to let the lower view spoil it. Why do people think it is o.k. to leave junk like this just because we are out here in the country? Don’t leave it displayed on the road for crying out loud! Pull it out of sight somewhere else on your continuing acres!
The baby goats went off to the neighbors the other day so I began milking again. It seems that I am getting one quart a milking. I wonder if I can get more if I milk at noon for a few days. Otherwise it will take me 4 days to get milk for 1# of mozzarella. I don’t want to have it sit that long. Looks like I will be making a lot of yogurt.
