Some place nice to get stuck in....

I was worried when we butchered our own chickens they wouldn't be as big as the hormonal, chemical induced store chickens. I was wrong! Look at the size of this deboned breast from a 6 pound chicken!

I am glad they are big, because when we invited friends from church over for dinner, we could feed all 10 of us at the table with two chickens, with plenty left over. We had our own raised chicken, garden green beans, homemade applesause, and homemade bread. After the Sunday dinner, the fellas went out and put up their tree stands for the season. It had turned wonderfully warm and sunny Sunday after the end of the week looked like this:

It might look pretty, but I am glad that it was melted off in two days. It is back to unseasonably warm weather. Cool evenings might need a fire, but the days are bearable.

The snow is beautiful, but I am thankful it usually doesn't stick around too long for us.

We love our home raised chickens. They may cost more to raise, but I think the health benefits are great.

Have a wonderful day.
