Work before play

A beautiful morning this morning, great for moving 40 bales of hay.  Tom brought it home the night before, but it was late, so I took it back early the next morning.  Two bales at a time on the make shift sled that is actually a big black dumpster lid.   Usually, it isn't bad with snow.  The snow is melting now.  But that leaves water.  So, I used the old fashioned logging way and tramped through the low spot that leads from  north to south from the driveway to the barn.  It helped float the sled enough to make it somewhat easier to get back there.   Forty bales in two hours.  Not bad.  At least we didn't get the rain they said we were going to get. That would have been awful on the bales!

I got cleaned up while the girls did chores.  Jessalyn worked on the tack in the barn and Becky worked in the house.  Then we went shopping!

Coming home we followed Ken.  He was coming out to shoot a little.  He brought Miley with him.   I put Stan in the cage but the black boys did fine with her.

They stayed the afternoon.   Tom brought "feel bad" pizza home.  It was a nice thank you for moving all that hay myself.  Ken stayed until after that then he and Miley went home.
