Early last week, it was time for the little ones to move on. They are really rambunctious and are healthy and ready. That means time to milk! Cheese!
We were invited to a friends home for a shrimp boil. It was really good! Red potatoes, mushrooms, onions, shrimp, and corn on the cob all mixed in a spicey herb and then boiled in water in a outside deep fryer. Delicious! Good food, good company.
We all took a night and went to the Albion fair Wednesday. I was disappointed to say the least. I anticipated seeing Linda Braden's tatting taking first this year, but to my surprise, she didn't enter anything! And looking around at the display cases, not many others did either! The afghan racks were barely 2/3 full. The hand crafts were layed out with plenty of space between each item. I wonder why? I would think that with the economy that many would have the time and would want to try to earn some pin money. Well, I guess that should have included me. I said I was going to enter something, but I didn't either. The thing is, when I make something, I generally give it away. Now, how would it look if I ask for it back, even if it was just to enter it for a week?
Tommy had shown up last weekend and left his borrowed bike. So when Tom took it to work for him to pick up, Tommy thanked him by sending home a treat. Typical Tommy.
And can you imagine, with the weather still turning fall-ish and cool, I still picked a handful of strawberries in the morning!
Becky had to take time out and practice parallel parking. Our driveway was wide enough, so she measured and layed out some 2x4's and kept at it.
Did it pay off on Friday morning?
You bet!
Another milestone for her.
