Ten years I have been driving to that gym for classes and then taking Becky to work....TEN YEARS! You would think that I would know all about everything around that area. When we bought the brand new wagon two years ago I backed into a spot I always parked in. Bam! A dink crinkle in the bumper from rebar that she had put as a marker in the ground.
Last night, I pulled in the first drive just as MANY times before. I wasn't driving fast, I was killing time waiting for her to be done. I didn't even have my foot on the gas. I was coasting down the road and pulled in. BAM! RIGHT INTO THE DITCH!
It didn't sound good. I called AAA and they pulled me out. A hairlip, but didn't look bad.
Until I swung around in the parking lot to see if I messed it up. Oh, yeah. I had broken a piece off that would fit nicely in the palm of your hand from the radiator.
Peeking underneath I saw it. No more fluid! Tom puttered in in the truck as it is running hard and brought us all home. Today he will decide what to do and where to take it. And here he thought that he would take his truck in while I was gone to get it fixed up.
I also found out that Tommy had called while I was in town. Hubby Tom talked to him for ten minutes or so. He said he sounded really good, relaxed. Glad that he is almost done and said that he did well during survival week, or doing the THE B.E.A.S.T. as they call it. He ask that I bring homemade cookies.
I don't know if I can take them down with me, but I can send them off when he reaches permanent party. From the sounds of it, it will be the same base. At least it won't be an awful winter for him there.
