I am feeling very proud of myself at the moment! I sat here longer than I should have today.
I called Singer to find out about the bobbin. She told be about the online instruction book and give me the birthdate of my machine. It was made January 28, 1927 in Elizabeth, NJ. There were 50,000 made.
I played and played with that bobbin thread longer than I wanted but I was obsessed.
After many turns of tension I did it!
I can be electric free when I sew now! (well, I did leave the light on the back to see). It's that old fashioned exercise to thin your thighs!

As the owner of an antique Singer Sewing machine that looks much like yours here, I know how hard it is to get the darn thing adjusted. So congrats girl!!! LOL
I love ours and it was the first sewing machine I ever sewed on with my Grandmother's guidance. It was hers and when she died, I got it. My brother has offered me $1000.00 for it and I have refused him. LOL It means more to me in sentimental value!
God's Blessings,

Mine is 1921...and we've had many a day of ill will between us! LOL...Dewey can stitch good on that machione where I'm convinced I'm all thumbs...and no feet! It's a humbling thing to determine you are utterly and completely dyslexic and lack any level of hand-foot coordination :( I'm surprised I can walk and talk at the same time my first attempts with that machine were so bad!
I think I'll have another go...one of us has to be the strong one. Besides -- I'm bigger and have more pounds on my side!
