Happy 93rd Birthday, Grandma!

It was Grandma's 93rd birthday on  Thursday.  The girls and I brought her Boston Creme Pie instead of the traditional birthday cake.  It was really good!  We visited for a time and saw the beautiful roses a friend of hers brought her.I had been after Tom to cut some wood for new seat bases for our diningroom table chairs.  They aren't very comfortable, and they are top heavy and are always falling over if someone bumps them.  He brought these home yesterday!  Someone was just setting them out on the curb as he left work.   And six matching ones to boot!

Fall is officially here so it was time to pull out the fall decorating bucket.  We don't do holiday, but we do scarecrows and such.  The little rag guy I made when the older boys were very little.  One day we sat down and made rag scarecrows.

Mom and Dad  now have their landline phone in so now I can get the daily report of just how WARM it is down there in the pan handle state.   Right now it isn't to bad here with our highs being their breakfast time temps.   I noticed that Tommy has it about the same as us yesterday too, with the exception of the last few days he had rain.  Finally heard from him too via mass mailing postcard.  At least now we can write him!

And Floridians....we have our own little critters greeting us outside.  Jess found this little guy while out poking around.  When brush hogging the garden  I found about three of these little guys, but they had blue tails!
