blah blag blogging

Taking a little vacation the end of last week.  Tom and the girls headed up to the mountains for a few days.  My mother-in-law rents two cabins every year about this time and various family members go up and visit over the two weeks she is there.  So when they were gone, I had my little vacation time.  Some one had to stay and do upkeep on the animals.  And believe it or not, it was a good reprieve for me too.  Mowing, sewing, and purging.  Ah, my kind of time off!

It was a little strange the first evening though.    It was very dark, but the moon stayed full.  It was rather cool looking.

While up at camp Tom thought of me and brought me back a new coffee/tea mug.  Pretty, isn't it?

I also tried to tie some things up for the pending fall season.  I noticed one day on my way to town that I wasn't the only one thinking of preparing for the new season.  I saw these geese over one of the cornfields.   I couldn't get them all in.  There were quite a few trying to fall into their place flying southward.

Tom went back down to Pittsburg last Tuesday.  He had decided what jobs he wanted to put a bid in for so he rode down with a few other guys and swore in to the Air Force.  I can't say I am any happier, but he is going to do what he feels he needs to do.   I have to trust that the choices he makes are not his own and that he will seek God and let him lead him from here.  The anticipation and anxiousness lingers on though.  They didn't give him a date that he was to leave just yet.  It's just prolonging my anxiety!

See you are cleaning-up for fall too. I did this the last week. I also want to say your gardens did pretty much like mine did. Always next year. I am already planning on what goes where, and where to put all the plants that will soon come inside.

As for Tom joining the air force he will be just fine, he has an angel on his shoulder keeping an eye out.
