what to do on cooler days

The temperatures are cooler, the sky is drab.   The sun may come and go, but is gone more so.  It was a good day yesterday for visiting.  Tom drove us over to see his Grandpa yesterday.  They live on the other side of the state ( it takes 45-60 minutes to drive from OH line to PA line).  Isn't all that far when you drive as much as we do but it still is a ways to make it often.
Not only was it nice he spent time with him, but it was good that Jess came too.

after getting home last night and eating dinner,  I heard the horses carrying on out in the pasture.   I thought they had gone out for chores, but it looks like someone wanted to do some riding instead!

Today was just as bleak as yesterday with rain on the way home from church.  We had a guest speaker today from LIFE BUILDING MINISTRIES.  It is a bible camp for men that helps them in the right direction in life.  It wasn't so much telling us what they were about, but more preaching as they do there.  It was a really good message this morning.   Reminded me more of the bible sermons I heard growing up.

it was a little chilly inside so I decided to make cookies.  Then of course the oven was on so I put in a tray of chicken thighs to bake for ready food for another day, and of course while that was baking, I was letting city chicken( pork cube pieces on a skewer ) marinate in milk.  When the chicken was done I took the pork and rolled in homemade seasoning to be baked.  I also washed up a few baked potatoes for tonight and a few extra for using later in the week.  It smells good and is warm now!

To get out of the kitchen I took last weeks yucky cookies to the barn.  At least the goats and horses liked them!
I found Tom still trying to get the tractor fixed.  He is still waiting on a part to get it running again.  We need to use it badly!
