The begining of the week started our vacation bible school. This year our theme was Paul in Rome. As a teacher again this year, they gave me the story or Lydia. Well, for those of you that don't know about Lydia, she is mentioned for a handful of verses. Now, how do you teach a handful of verses for 30 minutes, especially to keep the attention of kindergardeners? Well, like Paul. You go where you are led and let God take it from there. So far He hasn't failed me!
The first night of teaching I was coming home and stopped to snap this picture over a farm field. It was much more beautiful that you can see here.
The next day, Tom and Jess had to do a skit with another member of the church at the closing of vbs. They were to be at the marketplace. Jess was to steal bread from the merchant and Tom was the Roman soldier that was to go and take her off to be whipped. The idea was the merchant showed forgiveness to the thief thus sparing her.
