I know that time flies as you get older, but come on now. I am not senile. I can read the calandar. It is only the first full week of August. Now, isn't that suppose to be the hottest days of summer? Not one or two, but many consecutive days? Look at this temperature this morning. I poured my coffee at 6:30 and turned around to read this:
Going out to do chores at 8:00 I noticed tihs:
Can you see our green maples? Neither can I. They are all turning colors and dropping their leaves. Wait until next post when I show you just how the garden looks! I told Jess this morning it is a good thing we aren't relying on ourselves this year. We can still buy what we need. Even our milking goats are a bust this year. One lost the babies to early to come into milk and the other had milk fever and couldn't let it down after weaning the baby. I haven't gotten more than 8 oz a day so I am drying her off to hopefully be bred this fall instead of spring.

We have had a very mild summer where I live as well. I don't think we've hit the 90s but a couple of days and we LIVED in them for months and months during the past 2-3 years. It's so nice to get up and have the early morning temps in the low 60s. My kids are hoping that this trend continues and brings us a couple of good snows this winter!
