It has been a busy week

since I last posted.  We are still dealing with Clem, not knowing what is going on, although he isn't eating his hay and is pulled from grain, he will nibble an oyster cracker or two.  I know that isn't good for him, but I was curious if he would even try and eat.  I am turkey basting him small amounts of water but have yet to see results.  Jessalyn had him outside and about yesterday walking without hesitation.  So what am I to do?

While all that is going on, Saturday we took clothing in to the second hand store and returned to do lunch chores.  We found Rosie, our appy rolling in her stall.  At first I thought she couldn't get a foot hold on the floor because there wasn't much floor hay.  But after getting up, back down she went.   So, ripping off the framework holding the tarp over the doorway, we scooted the horses out into the pasture to get them moving.  I finally got a hold of her and then we walked.  And walkED, and WALKED.  Once in a while tugging or jerking her head up so she wouldn't lay down.  Turning circles.    Three hours, round and round the circumference of the yard.   Jess and I took turns.  Still nothing.  So I gave my goat lady, who is also our horse lady, a call to see what was in her medicine cabinet. I don't think she will ever know how grateful I am for what she has and is teaching me.   She sent down more of my friends Benamine and Lasix.   Good thing I know how to give shots now!   Nothing can stop me after seeing the size of those babies!  Well, she finally peed a half hour later.  We walked her a half hour more and she has been all right since.

We didn't make it to church yesterday morning because I could hardly move after walking in big black muckers around and through the mud/snow.    I am getting so old!  Later in the day I was moving a little better and Tom took me out for our early anniversary gift to each other.   A new mattress!   I can't wait until he picks it up this week.

Sorry, no pictures.  I don't think my eyes will be open enough to take any.
