No, not gifts. Not yet anyway. I am working on it though. Friday was a wet, sloppy day with lots of rain and slush. I still had to shovel the driveway with the heavy stuff so I wouldn't get stuck. Making my way to Ashtabula was easy, once I crossed the state line. Amazing that crossing from East to West in a roll of a tire can change the road so drastically. I know I was probably crazy to go with roads like that, but it sure beat going on the weekend when everyone is out frantic. Slow and steady Jess and I made it over and back with mission accomplished!
With the sleet the way it was, someone wanted in to enjoy the luxury of a dry bed (in the mudroom ONLY!) I finally got a picture of One Eyed Sam. He is still a little skiddish around the dogs, but you know, he is not a squabble cat as some told me. I know he needs to be fixed so I have a feeling that when many like minded males get together in the neighborhood, what do you expect? I think this is why he gets along fairly well with our group. All of our cats have been fixed. Thankfully, some came that way!
Wednesday we made it over to the local sale barn for the Christmas sale. It really wasn't as good as I had hoped. I did pick up a few things with the confirmation of Jessalyn sitting there. I wanted to get a few things for her horse, but couldn't shake her from coming along. At least I know she will like what she is getting. I tried to high tail it out before 1:00 as that is when the equine start. I can't believe the prices they are going for now, and it is to tempting! One beautiful young bay went for $85. He was beautiful. Looked just like Metthias in his prime.
So glad cookies are almost done. Thursday I had a friend drop by with an unexpected gift and could share a plate of them. She and I were talking about Stanley and how I was trying to accomodate him with the goat harness. I had altered it enough to make it fit, but it just didn't seem right. She stopped by and brought a harness she had used on one of her dogs. I right away wanted to try it out. Needless to say, after about 10 minutes I decided to call it quits and come in to research the net on what to do to make him pull. I think after reading up, I am ready to go back out and get him into shape. In fact, from what I was reading, Jack may be a good candidate too! Look out, Canine!!!
