+ one, -two temporarily

Things are growing!  I have transplanted the eggplants and various pepper plants.   Jessalyn helped me and marked all the rows.  I see the potato tops coming through too!

Tom surprised us Wednesday night.   He had called me when I was in town and said he saw a "puppy" that was out in the Jumbo Woods, apparently dropped off.   Of course I said, "Whatever...".   This is no puppy!  He looks like he may be golden retriever/St. Bernard.   He isn't very old, and still losing baby teeth.   eek!

So we gained a dog temporarily, but lost two yesterday, temporarily.   The boys were out with me when I was doing second seeding when Jack decided to run.  He has been going into a small area in the woods behind the garden and then coming right out, but yesterday he decided to go further in a blink of an eye and take Bob with him.

Rebekah and I took the talkies and walked the woods and road for three hours.  Finally they came back, wet and stinky.   Grr     It was nice that Tom and Jess gave them baths while I was away taking Rebekah to work.

I found the key (at least it works for now) with the bread flour I bought.   I was having a horrible time getting my bread to rise with this store bought flour that I got when it was on sale at the grocery store.   We can't afford the bulk from the Amish store anymore as it is up to $20 per 25#.   Gold medal had a sale two months ago  for .50#,  or 20# for $5.   I picked up many and also got rainchecks.   It was awful for a while and I tried everything.   Finally, I added an extra egg and it seemed to work!   We like our fresh bread!

I am glad you were able to use the flour you bought. The new dog looks so cute. I hope he works out for you.
