Meandering outside

Can you see the little guy in the grass?
I was coming in from feeding the chickens and checking eggs and just happened on this little guy. He really blended in with the rocks and dirt, I don’t know how I managed to spot him in the path. Good thing I did before the chickens! Tom seemed to think it was a tiny snapper. Jessalyn took him over to the nearby ditch and put him in. It is the first turtle we have had in a dozen years. Better keep an eye out for big mama!

Yard work seems endless when the weather is good. I have taken some material that was given to me and made a new canopy for our swing. Guess it doesn’t show up as well as I thought. The next rainy day I will make matching seat covers for it. I like the way it looks between my wild rosebushes, but I think once the guys clean up where the pines fell, I will move it over to the side yard. We have a huge slide that Tom had picked up last year that needs to go up and I think that part of the yard will be a good spot for the recreation items and our swing. We have a burning circle set up there too for nighttime fires.

The daylilies are coming up so nicely this year.  Big and thick.  I hope the flowers are the same way.  But, as you can see, I already have a problem with ants….

Who says that there is a shortage of bees?    I see that they are out in full force this year.  Maybe honey will be better?

maybe all the rain cleared up whatever was bothering them? God's ways are perfect and His ways past finding out. (I don't know where that is exactly from, but it sounds like scripture.)

We have a swing just like yours........it certainly did not wear well! We thought we would just try to find a wooden porch swing to put on the frame. I don't think I am brave enough to redo the seats.

Well, it wasn't an expensive swing. I meant that I will redo them as a pull-over slip cover. I don't have time to fit them.

I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed reading your blog today. The pictures made me feel like I was right there walking along with you :)

Great job on your swing canopy! I can't wait to see pics of the seat covers when you get to those.

Hugs,

Lisa

I am looking everywhere for evidence of ants. I tried to click on the picture to make it bigger, that didn't work. Then DUH... it hit me.... I saw your HUGE ants. =) I am slow, but I get there.... usually.
