A new day

brings a new life to the homestead!   Introducing,   well,  BOB!

After hearing that a local animal protection shelter had an over abundance of dogs,  they were running a special to try and find them homes.Hmmm...shelter dogs......  With much reservation,  we decided to look into it.   We took many dogs out and around the grounds.  One appealed to Tom, a small sheppard mix but wasn't yet adoptable.  They won't adopt out any pet that doesn't  have all it's shots, chipped, and is fixed.  He was still waiting to be neutered.   The last dog I took out was one without a paper on it's door.  Unknown to me, I did read about him online and laughed at the name when I saw it.  I knew the minute I put the lead on him and walked him he was coming home with us.

I am more than pleased at how this turned out!  Being four years old, I was hoping he was settled down.  Well,   Bob took to his new home right away. He  went all night without an accident,   took right to his little pad to sleep on, and hasn't made any negetive gestures to any of the cats.  I wonder how he will do with chickens?   At this point, I am so happy with him, that I won't worry.  Winter is here soon and the chickens won't be out and about anyway.

As far as his name,  Bob was the name the shelter gave him when he came in about two months ago.  He responds to "boy"  but not really "Bob"  yet.   Kids want to change his name, but I'm just not sure.  I think Bob is as good a name, and safer than some of the ones that Jess has come up with!
