I am so far behind, at least in blogging. I have been pushing the bar here at home.
For those that are cyber readers, last week we were dealing with my youngest daughter and her adventures. We went to the sale barn to spend some of her birthday money. She found a great looking riding blanket that she bought. Bringing it home, she put it on Dusty to try it out. Dusty was excited and tossed her off because the blanket was so slippery. She didn't let go immediately and the horse couldn't putll away fast enough and her hind hoof stepped on her breaking her 8th rib and puncturing her lung. Off to the hospital we went! X-rays and cat scans. The hole was so small that the doctor said that it isn't affecting her breathing and it would heal itself over time. Very sore even today, she is doing great without hardly a bruise. It looks more like a scuff from falling on pavement while on her bike. She says she can't wait to ride again!
While away just that one night in the hospital, the coons have decided to get in the garden. I thought it was storm damage from the winds we had, but when I went in the morning to gather what corn I had left, I noticed that every last ear was shucked and eaten! They were all over my pumpkin vines so they are coming off a little soon. I have taken what I could and set them aside to hopefully ripen in the sun. Some have come along well and I have been baking and freezing them.
Rebekah has decided her room should be BLUE
O.k . I know it is sideways, but I have tried turning this for 20 minutes. Just tip your head sideways. COMPUTERS!
Over the last two weeks we have put in our new front door. Ken did some cutting and learned how to use the sawz-all.

almost done
siding will go up, and the front light and I will put that up.
While doing some last minute yard sales, Tom found this really old Victrola that works! It is so neat, and he picked it up for a great price! Another sale brought a new toy for me. It is a moderate sized electric keyboard. Now I can play. It even has a headphone jack to no one can hear my mistakes! I love real piano, but you see, I have this grand old antique upright piano that I have had for years. The problem is, some of the keys are broken inside and when I ask around about fixing them, the tuners informed me that the type of upright I have is the kind that you can't fix the keys. At least for a satisfied price. Even then they say there are no guarentees. I could probably get a new piano for the cost of getting one or two keys fixed.
Yesterday, Tom decided to take the kids to the local amusement park. Here, Tom (in red) and Rebekah (to the right) are going up the new attraction, X-scream. It pulls you up a needle to the top for a great view of Lake Erie, then releases you at an awful rate to the bottom. Ken went on too, but he sat to far around the back to get his pictue.
Today we are off to the woods in New York State!
