Turkey!

Yesteday I enjoyed spending time with a friend that I haven't seen in years.  We were catching up and the boys were checking out the animals when  she ask if we got turkeys too.   Here, out at the barn was a wild hen and some of her little ones hangning around the hay and the front of the barn.   Hope they are there in a few weeks! I was glad the the weather turned good, sun shining and the pool water was warm.  The kids seemed to have fun swimming.   It was a relaxing afternoon.

The rain had come all week,  with only one day really being a downpour, so back to Muddy Boot.   At least were the traffic is heavy like infront of the barn.  The goats are back to mush and hope to go ahead and turn them around and put them more into the pasture area.   Running a few more lines of wire and they should be o.k.  to be turned out  to run.

Fall is around the corner and I have begun making up school schedules, trimming back the flowering bushes,  thinking what will need to be done before settling in for the winter.  There is much to be done yet, as Tom has to get the front door replaced (and that includes a lot of wall work), and hopefully do something about the mud room that has just about bit the dust.   Last week when it was so hot,  the dog, then myself fell through again.   I had to pull some rotten boards up just to get the old boy out.   Needless to say I began tearing it all off and replaced it with a make-do 4x4 porch but the wood on the wall is so bad, that another winter would be disaterous, not to mention cold in there this winter.    I won't  even begin to mention the barn again!

I am glad you had a good visit with your friend. That would be neat if the turkey stuck around. Hello Thanksgiving!! =) You must have gotten more rain than we did. We are still praying for more.
