Losing the ozone layer

means that even when it hits 70 it feels to hot. Work in the yard must go on while it is dry.   Today my oldest daughter and I took to the tractor and began digging up a piece in the yard that was so uneven that it made our stepping stone sidewalk tipsy.  Of course, when the rain comes, it will be a muddy mess.  Better get some seed started soon!  Luckily overnight it cools enough to get moister on the ground and that will help seedlings.   The broccoli and cauliflower sprouts are holding there own so far.   Someone told me that when they do start to get crowns, put stockings over them and it will keep the bugs out better than the netting.   I really don't want to find caterpillars in them!

Wow, green is  a beautiful color to see when you look out the window in the morning.  Especially when you see the contrast of the red cardinals, yellow finches, or bright orange orioles at the feeders!
