I almost hate to admit it, but it is a welcome site to our Muddy Boot. Some of the smaller plants were starting to look reather sad! My daughter went out the other day to gather those apples, but the ones that had fallen due to the wind that came through have brought the bees!
I will have to get out there with a picker and get some down from the top. It is one of three older trees that have surfaced through the overgrown brush in the front of the house. I think that they are macintosh, as they are nice and red/green and a soft juicey bite. One tree out front that was well over 50 years old finally toppled over during a winter storm two years ago. We removed most of the wood, but one large log was to big in diameter to cut up. It was over the stump of the tree and never moved. Now it has shoots coming up, and I hope that maybe somehow we can revive it. The same has happened on the west side of our property to another apple tree. I think we will brave pruning and shaping and see what comes of it.
The house if rather quiet this weekend as my one son has gone in to town to see his grandparents. My father was a pretty good bowler in his day and is going to give pointers to my son. He is finally going to go and join a junior league this next month. I think he is really excited to give it a try!
My oldest daughter has taken off to upper Maine for the next ten days or so on vacation. I know she wanted to go, but she doesn't like being away from home for long. She can be quite the homebody. I gave her a phone to call and I think that has helped. I heard from her last night and they were up in Massachusettes late last night. Farther than I have gone!
Well, with some brief time on my hands and with it raining, I hope to get out my needlework and get something done there.

With it raining, doing something inside is the ticket. I am hoping to get some handwork done this winter by the fire.
