Preparing everything in the kitchen. Of course, most made the day before as to curb the mess and dishes, but alas, again that plan failed. But It still made the workload light to get it ready. You can see how simple the table is this year. I used Grandma Clouser's fall tablecloth that is the festive orange and brown fall colors.
While some of the food was getting prepped and waiting for the rest of the family to come, Ken took the kids out for a class in gun safety, and a little bit of shooting.
Grandpa went along too.
The kids both were eager to try to hit the targets. Seeing who hit or who was close.
With time still on our hands, we took them out for an egg hunt along the trail. Jess and Tom had put pennies and candy in eggs and then we hid them along the trail before they came. I had wanted to do this for a long time, but never had the chance. So, an egg hunt at Thanksgiving. The weather was perfect for it and the woods smelled so good!
We had 18 people here for Thanksgiving. Well, 16, then Beck and Jake came for a visit and a small bite of pie. We all fit and the dogs were well behaved. Poor Brindy was in the cage most of the time, but she could see what was going on and did very well. Miley finally settled down after shear exhaustion for the fact Ken was here. The two oldest boys slept in the back most of the time.
No snow made it easy for everyone to come out and enjoy visiting.
